Michael Vaughn

Director of Music Ministry
I’m Michael Vaughn, a music director, singer, and voice teacher with nearly 20 years of experience working in and around the Houston area. I’ve had the privilege of performing 20 leading operatic roles, including work with Houston Grand Opera and solo performances with the Houston Symphony. I’ve also served on the voice faculties of Texas Southern University, Sam Houston State University, Lee College, and San Jacinto College. My educational background includes dual bachelor's degrees in Music Education and Voice Performance from Ithaca College, as well as Master’s degrees and doctoral work in Voice and Choral Conducting from The University of Houston.

While I still enjoy singing and teaching, my true passion lies in working with community groups and traditional church music. Currently, I’m the Director of Music and Worship at A&M UMC and the Director of Worship for the Texas Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church. Before joining A&M, I was the Director of Music at Wildwood UMC in Magnolia, TX, and St. Matthew's UMC in Houston, TX. Outside of work, I’m a proud parent of two and love working on cars and cooking anything that comes to mind.
